Introducing Dicty 1.0

After months in private beta, we are incredibly excited to announce the stable release of Dicty 1.0.

When we started building Dicty, our thesis was simple: developers think faster than they can type, and the friction of typing complex architectural thoughts leads to undocumented, fragile systems.

We wanted to build a Voice-to-Knowledge engine that bridges the gap between raw spoken intent and actual engineering workflows. With Dicty 1.0, that vision is finally a reality.

What's New in 1.0#

1. Zero-Friction Global Dictation#

You can now press your global hotkey anywhere on macOS to start dictating. Dicty stays out of your way until you need it, and automatically injects formatted text into your active window.

2. Local LLM Integration#

We know how much developers care about privacy. Dicty 1.0 features massive improvements to our local Ollama integration. You can now use local models for text formatting, structuring, and spelling correction without a single byte of data leaving your machine.

3. Git Context Awareness#

This is the feature we are most proud of. Dicty now hooks directly into your local Git repositories. It understands your active branch, reads your recent commits, and structures your spoken notes around your actual code changes.

What's Next?#

We are already hard at work on Dicty 1.1, which will bring native multi-vault syncing across Notion, Obsidian, and Confluence simultaneously.
