Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) vs. Managed Cloud AI#
Dicty never forces you to purchase compute through us if you already have your own accounts:
- BYOK (Free for Everyone): Enter your OpenRouter, OpenAI, or Anthropic API key in Settings → Prompts / AI, or point Dicty to a local Ollama instance (
http://localhost:11434/v1). You only pay your upstream provider directly at raw cost. - Managed Cloud AI (Included in Pro): If you prefer a seamless, 1-click experience without managing API credentials, token balances, or rate limits, Dicty Pro manages the routing and quota automatically.
