System Prompts Editor#
Dicty's behavior across every mode is guided by customizable system prompts. Access them in Settings (⌘ ,) → Prompts:

architecture_system | Used by the autonomous repository analyzer to build ARCHITECTURE.md. |
dictation_custom_system | Base instructions executed when Custom Prompt dictation style is active. |
dictation_message_system | Structures spoken voice into concise chat messages for Slack and Telegram. |
dictation_email_system | Formats speech into formal emails with subject, greeting, and sign-offs. |
dictation_note_system | Organizes dictation into structured Markdown notes with headers and bullets. |
dictation_meeting_system | Synthesizes meeting audio transcripts into decisions and action checklists. |
You can edit any prompt, test changes live, and click Reset to Default anytime to restore original presets.
Custom Vocabulary & Snippets#
Manage custom vocabulary in Settings (⌘ ,) → Vocabulary:

1. Pronunciation & Name Corrections#
Teach Whisper how to spell unique personal names, company terms, and technical acronyms (e.g. PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, GraphQL).
2. Voice Macro Snippet Expansions#
Bind short spoken cues to full snippets or boilerplate code. When you speak the trigger word, Dicty replaces it with your formatted snippet.
3. CSV Import & Export#
Import vocabulary files (word,replacement) to share company-wide terminology across your engineering team.
